Description
Made by experienced cannabis growers and lobster trappers on an island off the coast of Maine, this Cold-Water Extracted Kelp is a multipurpose biostimulant, plant food, and soil conditioner that is a staple in any organic living soil or hydroponic garden throughout all stages of growth.
WHY KELP?
Norweigan Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum, or seaweed) is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and contains a vast array of naturally-occurring: macro and micro nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, hormones, enzymes, and microbes that will benefit any plant.
HOW IT’S MADE:
Kelp is sustainably harvested by our friends in Stonington, Maine. This remote island is surrounded by some of the purest water on the Atlantic coast and is home to a diverse community of marine life and dense kelp forests.
The kelp is submerged in fresh water and aerated to assist in the extraction process.
WHY COLD-WATER EXTRACTED?
The aerated cold-water extraction process allows us to craft a truly all-natural, pH neutral, potent extract that is shelf-stable with only two ingredients: kelp and water.
Other kelp extracts rely on chemicals such as potassium hydroxide to accelerate the extraction process or phosphoric acid for shelf stability and to adjust pH.
WHAT’S A BIOSTIMULANT?
A substance or micro-organism that, when applied to seeds, plants, or the rhizosphere, stimulates natural processes to enhance or benefit nutrient uptake, nutrient efficiency, tolerance to abiotic stress, or crop quality and yield.
